Why do I need your paralegal services? Can I not just represent myself in small claims court? Absolutely, but we would not recommend it. You have to make sure that all your documentation is all in order and that you have filed the necessary paperwork. Failure to do so could result in your case getting postponed or dismissed. You could be naming the wrong defendant.

You could be naming a defendant in your case where the filing of the business name / legal entity doesn’t exist. In such case you would have gone through the entire Small Claims Court proceeding for nothing, and even if you win, there is no business entity to collect the debt from.

Case Dismissed: You don’t have the proper evidence.

Even though you are allowed to attend small claims court on your own, it’s like any other court system in that you must prove your case. This means having the necessary documents to prove your case. If you show up with no evidence, or the wrong evidence your case could be postponed or dismissed. These are just a few issues you could face when attending court without legal representation.
